Anehnya, jenazah pengunjung yang nahas itu, menghilang bagaikan ditelan bumi. Tim SAR rata-rata baru bisa menemukan jenazahnya 2-3 hari kemudian setelah melakukan penyisiran. Biasanya, lokasi penemuan mayat tidak pada area di mana pengunjung tersebut tertelan ombak. Mayat ditemukan ratusan meter, bahkan kadang beberapa kilometer dari lokasi semula.
